responsibility.
CURRICULUM
Beach Park School offers an enriched curriculum for
students three years of age through eighth grade,
combining Montessori principles and practices with
other innovative educational techniques. Emphasizing
independent and small, flexible group learning, daily
lessons include reading, math, language arts, science,
social studies, history, Spanish, library skills,
computer skills, environmental studies, multicultural
studies, conflict mediation and practical life. Art,
music and physical education are also offered throughout
the week.
SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Foreign language, environmental science, global studies,
computer literacy, music and drama productions, art
exhibits, overnight class field trips (3rd grade and
above), community service, summer camp, chess club,
yearbook, before and after school extended care.
FACILITIES
Beach Park School is just minutes from downtown Tampa
and the Westshore business district. Inside, you'll
find newly renovated classrooms (completed summer
of 2004), a 4,000-volume library and computers in
all elementary and middle school classrooms. Outside
features of the campus include a common area, performance
area, garden, playgrounds, outdoor sports court and
picnic area.
CLASS SIZE
Classes at Beach Park School have a student/teacher
ratio of 10 to 1 or better.
ENROLLING YOUR CHILD
Beach Park School is committed to bringing together
young people fro a broad spectrum of ethnic national
and religious backgrounds. We welcome diversity. Applicants
are considered according to their individual talents
and needs without regard to race, color, religion
or county of origin.
We maintain a waiting list and accept applications
year-round. An evaluation and classroom visit are
required as part of the admissions process. New students
are admitted throughout the academic year on a space-available
basis. Children currently enrolled in our program
are given priority and in February of each year they
register for the following year.
